4.1. TAPE À L'ŒIL Recipients and Subcontractors

Your data is sent to TAPE À L'ŒIL partners who can process the data on their behalf (these are recipients), or only on behalf of and according to TAPE À L'ŒIL's instructions (these are subcontractors).

The recipients of the data are:

  • payment institutions (banks)

  • The franchisees of the TAPE À L'ŒIL franchise network.

4.2. VALIUZ Alliance

TAPE À L'ŒIL is a member of the VALIUZ alliance which brings together a group of companies around customer knowledge to improve your experience and personalise our offers and communication according to your buying habits.

VALIUZ is a company co-owned by TAPE À L'ŒIL. To view the list of brands participating in the alliance, click here:

4.2.1. How does VALIUZ work?

VALIUZ pools technological and human resources to improve the customer experience.

To do this, VALIUZ gathers customer data from the alliance members:

  • To carry out statistical processing allowing each member of the alliance to understand the expectations of its customers better and thus to develop its activity and its offer.
    For example: with a better knowledge of the territory and local expectations, an alliance member brand can identify the best location to open a new shop and adapt its range accordingly.
  • To allow the members of the alliance to get to know you better so that they can talk to you better: your preferred method of purchase, the time of day when you prefer to look at new products, the products you are interested in, and so on.
    For example: Are you in the habit of looking at high-tech products online but prefer to buy them in-store? Rather than offering you exclusive web offers that do not interest you, the company will offer you a valid promotion on this type of product in the shop closest to you (subject, of course, to the choices you have expressed to the company about receiving this type of communication). Result: Fewer suggestions that do not interest you, more offers that appeal to you.

4.2.2. Which data do you need to benefit from this service?

The algorithms used by VALIUZ are enriched and improved by several types of data: the personal information that you have communicated to us (for example age range, location, sex, etc.), your purchase history on the web and in-store and, if you have accepted the VALIUZ cookie, your online browsing (pages visited, most viewed products, etc.).

Your telephone number, e-mail address, postal address or your first and last names are not transmitted to the members of the alliance. An alliance member who does not know you will never be able to receive information about you.

VALIUZ does not reuse the data collected for its own account: it acts only on behalf of the members of the alliance. It will not send you any communication or advertising. The data processed by VALIUZ is encrypted so that VALIUZ is not able to identify you directly with this data ("pseudonymised" data).

Using VALIUZ, TAPE À L'ŒIL provides pseudonymised data to alliance members who already know you, and conversely, TAPE À L'ŒIL collects data that you have transmitted to these members. This sharing, therefore, only takes place between brands by which you are already known (for example, because you are already a customer or subscribe to the newsletter of these brands). This data processing is based on the legitimate interest of TAPE À L'ŒIL.

VALIUZ keeps the data for the time necessary to achieve the purposes referred to above and deleted in accordance with the conservation policy defined by TAPE À L'ŒIL in the section below.

For certain operations, personal data may be transmitted to companies located in countries outside the European Union. Prior to the transfer outside the European Union, and in accordance with the regulations in force, TAPE À L'ŒIL ensures the security of these data transfers.

Transfers outside the European Union can be made, in particular, within the framework of the following activities:

Activité Pays de destination des données Encadrement du transfert de données
Exploitation des données vers les réseaux sociaux Etats-Unis Privacy Shield
Solution Bureautique en Cloud Etats-Unis / Japon / Canada / Australie Binding Corporate Rules
Solution de gestion CRM et prospection Etats-Unis Privacy Shield
Secure payment solution for TAO NEW LIFE Brazil / Mexico / United States / Australia / Singapore / China Standard contractual clauses

TAPE À L'ŒIL has established precise rules concerning the length of time for which Customers' personal data are kept. As a matter of principle, unless otherwise required by law, data shall be kept for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which they were collected.

The storage periods used are as follows:

  • - Prospect data (someone who has never bought) is stored for three years after the last contact from the prospect;
  • - Customer data is kept for three years from the last purchase;
  • - Cookies for audience measurement, targeted advertising and sharing on social networks are stored on the customer's device or computer for a period of 13 months;
  • - Purchase invoices are kept for ten years.

TAPE À L'ŒIL does not collect data on minors under 16 years of age without the consent of the holder of parental authority who communicates the data himself or herself.

TAPE À L'ŒIL uses your contact information to send you targeted advertising, in particular by e-mail, post, SMS, push or on social networks.

TAPE À L'ŒIL complies with the rules laid down by Directive 2002/58/EC of 12 July 2002, which provides for the prior collection of express consent from the customer to send commercial prospecting by electronic means (e-mail or SMS).

Consequently, when creating your account on the website, you are expressly asked for your consent to receiving offers from TAPE À L'ŒIL by e-mail.

TAPE À L'ŒIL will not send you personalised solicitations by e-mail or SMS if you have not consented.

There is an exception when the Customer, without having given his/her prior consent, may nevertheless be approached if he/she is already a customer of TAPE À L'ŒIL and the purpose of the prospecting is to offer similar products or services.

In all cases, the customer has the option to oppose the receipt of these requests by carrying out the following actions:

  • - For e-mail, by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in each e-mail;
  • - For SMS, by sending the message SMS stop to the number indicated in it;
  • - By contacting customer services.

TAPE À L'ŒIL may contact you by phone to propose offers on products or services. If you do not wish to be solicited, you have the option to register on the list of opposition to telephone solicitation available on the website

VALIUZ provides a service aimed at improving the customer experience. To do this, VALIUZ allows alliance members to recognise you when you browse their website. This allows them, for example, to personalise the content of their site and the offers they can make to you, depending, in particular, on your browsing and purchasing behaviour.

To provide this service, VALIUZ collects your browsing information on the websites of the members of the VALIUZ Alliance (pages visited, products viewed and purchased). This information is used to complete your profile for the purpose of pseudonymous analysis and can be compared with the data you have provided to the alliance members (example: age range, in-store purchase history, etc.). This allows VALIUZ, based on the analysis made of this data, to qualify your preferences, and thus to allow the members of the alliance to send you relevant communications.

The data collected and processed by VALIUZ within the framework of its service are pseudonymised, that is to say, they do not allow you to be directly identified. This service is provided through a tracker deposited on the alliance members' sites and mobile applications.

To recognise you on the different devices you use to browse the Internet, VALIUZ uses the service of the company Mediarithmics, which uses a digital identifier (cookie) to identify you. Médiarithmics carries out the creation of this identifier (type "XXX") in its capacity as a data controller.

The collection of this identifier generated by the Mediarithmics cookie when you browse our Site constitutes a treatment for which TAPE A L'OEIL and Mediarithmics are jointly responsible. Mediarithmics then processes this identifier to compare it to its reconciliation table. The comparison confirms that the same browser has been identified on the site of several of its customers, and for Valiuz on the site of the members of the alliance. Mediarithmics is responsible for processing this correspondence table. Under no circumstances will Mediarithmics access your browsing data on the Site of one of the alliance members. Valiuz recovers from Mediarithmics this identifier and the Sites of the alliance members visited and correlates them with the other data at its disposal for the purposes mentioned above. For more information on the reconciliation process performed by Mediarithmics, please consult the Mediarithmics data protection policy available here.

VALIUZ processes these data under the conditions set out in article 3.2 of this document.

The VALIUZ cookie has a maximum lifetime of 13 months. The navigation data, thus collected by VALIUZ, are kept for a maximum of 12 months.
